I am currently a class-12th student studying in Vana Vani matriculation higher secondary school, IIT Madras. Here’s a recent story that happened in my school.It was 20 December 2015, Sunday. I was in class-11th then. My seniors (now passed their 12th) were studying for their next day’s biology exam sitting across the school ground and some were sitting inside one of the open classrooms on the ground floor. We, the students of Vana Vani, never had classes on Sunday but strangely my seniors had on that day.
All boys and some girls left by 1 o’clock; only a few girls stayed. It was around 2 p.m.. A man wearing blue t-shirt walked straight into the school. And he suddenly said “Hi” to one of the students sat in the ground. She too replied “Hi” and asked “Who are you?”
He replied, smiling, “Yeah. I am Sundar Pichai.” Suddenly, all the girls screamed and rushed towards him leaving all their books as such. Upon hearing this, our biology teacher, wary of what was happening, came out. When she saw him, she also became excited. And our ex-head girl screamed, “I saw Sundar Pichai sir.” He said that he came for a 10-minute short visit to his school to relive the golden memories as he was on his way to the airport.
After that, my biology ma’am asked some questions inquiring, which was his class? He pointed to the 11 C (my classroom) and went there, but that classroom was locked. So, he saw his class through the window.
My ma’am again asked whether he remembers any of his teachers, for which he replied, “Sorry ma’am, except my chemistry teacher, I do not remember any other of my teachers.” Then he asked about his teacher and whether he was still there. My ma’am replied, “No, he retired.”
After that he shared some of his school memories with all present there.
One of my senior got an idea to have a photo with him. His PA, who visited along with him, took the photo above.
Then he went here and there with his PA, saw his school and left with a goodbye.
The next day, this incident went viral in the whole school. We didn’t stop talking about that, even after a week.
By this incident, I am coming to a fact about him – that is, he is actually a very gentle and kind person. He is very simple with his speech and clothes, while his PA dressed well and looked opposite to him.
There are people who forget their past if they rise to great heights. In a crowd of these types of people, this man even after becoming CEO of Google, remembered his school and memories. Mr. Sundar Pichai, who rose to that height, need not have to remember his school and all, but he did.
I’m really proud of him. Admit this fact all!
This is a true incident that didn’t become very famous over media and social networks, but it damn happened.
